He focused on figure painting and narrative painting. He participates regularly in several local plein-air paint outs, namely the Annual Open Air Arts event in Melrose, Florida since 2009 and the Thomas Center paint out in Gainesville since 2010. Karen LeMonnier

“I found art as a child and have painted ever since. Being an artist is the passion that has carried me through life. To be able to share that passion, to know that many have enjoyed my work, continues to give me joy. “
Her style and enthusiasm comes from the Impressionist Artists. For Karen, impressionism means taking inspiration directly from nature, trusting your senses rather than what you think you know.
Karen studied under local oil painters in Pompano Beach before moving on to study Fine Art at Ringling School of Art in Sarasota. There she discovered old master techniques and continued to experiment with her chosen medium of oil. Her style is painterly, full of movement, and her oils are rich in color and in brushwork.

Born on Staten Island, I lived in the NY metropolitan area until 1997 when I moved to Gainesville. I began my formal study of art at Philadelphia College of Art while still in High School and continued with three years of printmaking and oil painting at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. I continued my interest in art, taking painting and figure drawing classes at the Art Students League and at Cooper Union in NYC and attending workshops with well-known watercolor painters.
I presently teach water media painting in private classes in Gainesville, FL. My paintings are about the natural beauty of the place I live. Landscapes, beautiful gardens, old houses, nature trails, rivers and lakes are the subject matter that inspires me.
My goal is to reflect the beauty of our natural world and inspire its conservation and protection.
Robin E. Popp

“Some things cannot be said with words. The beauty of God's creation explodes all around us, and my expression, my worship, comes in the form of painted colors across a canvas. I also like to add a sense of lighthearted joy so that the viewer can feel a bit of the peace and appreciation that I felt during the painting process.”
Robin lived in south Florida and has painted since she was old enough to hold the brush. She spent a short time at Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL, and then has continued learning and growing as an artist in a family of artists. Her favorite medium is oils and she works mostly outside as a plein air painter and teacher.

“I love to paint at the beach. I could return to this same spot on the coast of Holland and paint a 1001 paintings and I am sure I would never be without inspiration.” Dutch “plein air” painter – Roos Schuring teaches me how. Over the past two years I have attended 4 Masterclasses with this exceptional artist. I am in awe of her technique and her “no nonsense” teaching style
It was Karen LeMonnier who first introduced her to “plein air” and whose encouragement and support she is so very grateful for. They continue to paint together in 2016 – the magnificent springs and rivers that surround us in North Central Florida.

Scott Lamp

“I pay attention to what attracts my eye, and then I ruminate for a few minutes (or a few years) until an idea forms that expresses something about what I was attracted to in the first place.” Scott doesn't paint in a single style, but instead enjoys the process of choosing an artistic style, color palette, and medium best suited to his intention for the work.
Scott began watercolor classes with Linda Pence in 1998, and even though he has taken many workshops from acclaimed teachers, he feels it was Linda's knowledge, skill and generous spirit that nurtured his development as an artist. He enjoys talking to others about his artwork. His winning awards from respected jurors has helped to affirm his efforts, but the real excitement is felt when a person connects to what he was doing in a painting.
