Model Trains; Exact Replicas; and Real Live Railroad Artifacts
Come see live running scale model and toy trains, animated scenes and the Polar Express Train and Village. Meet one of our engineers that has spent hours rebuilding to scale every one of our exhibits.
On display is a 8'x24' scale diorama of the Plant System Railroad; an exact replica built from a 1917 blueprint, then scaled to HO size (1:87). Real live railroad artifacts such as: crossing gates; warning lights and the likes on display for all to see.
Indian Artifacts
Prior to 1821, the Seminole Indians settled into High Springs area. A second settlement settled 1835-1845. Some featured artifacts are dolls of this era.
Clothing and General Store Artifacts
1800-1900 general artifacts to include household implements like: a meat grinder; typewriter; glass bottles; farm implements; hand tools; sewing machine and kitchen gadgets. Also on display, are early 1900 railroad uniforms.
"Walk of Remembrance"
In the early 1990's local citizens were invited to join in on creating a tribute to the team working for the railroad system of High Springs. You can see over 290 bricks installed at the museum honoring these men and women.
